Que is one of many young people who are called by the call of love for nature to become a CHANGEr. Que is handling many projects at CHANGE day by day, from Pollution to Wildlife. How did the girl from the land of Quang Ninh head to the South to join CHANGE?
What made Que choose CHANGE as the next stop for her environmental career?
If I were to use one phrase to describe the reason why I came to the CHANGE house, it would probably be “predestined fate”. I was in Quang Ninh and was also doing many things related to conservation and the environment. I had the opportunity to meet some of the people at CHANGE at that time. I really admired what CHANGE was doing. However, because I lived in the North, and CHANGE was a non-profit organization in the South, it was quite difficult for me to convince my family to allow me to head for the South. But because I believed in what I was trying to do for the environment and wildlife in Vietnam, and believed that I could contribute a little bit of energy to meaningful things, I chose CHANGE as my next destination. This may not have been an easy decision, but I fully believe that I made the right choice. Currently, I am a Project Officer – at first I specialized in the field of Wildlife, but now I work on various projects. I really love my job as through every project I take on and participate in, I learn a lot of things.
After entering CHANGE, does Que feel “regret”?
Of course not. But, if I regret now it’s too late, though (laughs). At first, I envisioned CHANGE as a home to very cool and enthusiastic people who dress up smartly to go to the office every day. Upon actually working here, my imagination kind of shattered, because CHANGE is like a family, where everyone can be themselves to do what they believe in and live together with like-minded people. Despite being up to necks with deadlines, I am still very satisfied.
What is Que’s wishes for CHANGE on this birthday?
I wish CHANGE will do a lot of “gigantic” and meaningful projects, and always receive a lot of love and support from everyone. Wish CHANGE’s dream for “A green, clean and sustainable Vietnam protected by Vietnamese people” will soon come true.
